Cowboy Boots

Anyone who has ever dressed a child will love this one!

Did you hear about the Texas teacher who was helping one of her kindergarten students put on his cowboy boots? He asked for help & she could see why.

Even with her pulling and him pushing, the little boots still didn't want to go on. Finally, when the 2nd boot was on, she had worked up a sweat.

She almost cried when the little boy said, "Teacher, they're on the wrong feet." She looked and sure enough, they were. It wasn't any easier pulling the boots off than it was putting them on. She managed to keep her cool as together they worked to get the boots back on, this time on the right feet.

He then announced, "These aren't my boots."

She bit her tongue rather than get right in his face and scream, "Why didn't you say so?" like she wanted to. And, once again she struggled to help him
pull the ill-fitting boots off his little feet.

No sooner did they get the boots off and he said, "They're my brother's boots. My Mom made me wear 'em."

Now she didn't know if she should laugh or cry. But, she mustered up the grace and courage she had left to wrestle the boots on his feet again.

Helping him into his coat, she asked, "Now, where are your mittens?"

He said, "I stuffed 'em in the toes of my boots."

Angel Ornaments and Butterflies

November is a busy month for me and I love it. I'm usually getting ready for multiple craft shows and looking forward to the Holidays. It's one of my favorite things to do. MAKE MAKE MAKE. CRAFT CRAFT CRAFT. SMILE SMILE SMILE and eat lots of homemade goodies while I work.

This week, I'm whipping up a bunch of my signature Angel and Butterfly ornaments, made from a recycled soda cap, hand shaped clay faces and delicately glittered wings.

I have Monarch butterflies and glitter everywhere in my studio! I'm so happy. Those wonderful butterflies have taken up temporary residence on one of my studio walls. Edged in ultra fine black glitter, they are absolutely dazzling!

So dazzling that I've decided you all should have your own wall of butterflies too. I've put together a free down loadable template with the wings shown below and instructions on how to make them fly. Or at least make your heart soar.

Simply click here for the template and you're on your way.

I swear, you will be flooded with memories of days when you've chased those beautiful winged friends - and you will add 5 years to your life just thinking about it. It's magical!

Wild Horses

I'm looking at photos I took over the summer. These are of a group of wild horses we watched while visiting Kahneeta Warm Springs Indian Reservation in Eastern Oregon.

As we were leaving the reservation, we were lucky enough to witness this wild herd following their leader through the open fields.

The Great White Leader approached the road, but stopped when he saw a car.

He turned to the other horses and would not let any of them come closer until the car had come to a complete stop.

Then, he led them safely to the other side.

Not a sight you see everyday. I'm glad I had my camera handy.
