Toy Rocket made from recycled materials

Designing cool crafts that young boys will enjoy is often a challenge for me. I knew I had hit a home run however when my 10 year old saw this one and remarked, "That's so awesome mom. Can we keep it?" It's my version of an outer-space, intergalactic (cool word huh?) rocket ship made almost excusively from recycled materials.

The body for the rocket is an emptied Gatorade bottle.
The wings are silver card stock hot glued to the bottle.

The flame is an inexpensive battery-operated tea-lite.
The background is a cardboard box painted black and white painted dots for the stars.
The planets are stick on clip art, which I've included in my free downloadable set of instructions and templates: click here.
